In Fukui Prefecture, the
electric companies or the research institute that have nuclear power stations
in this prefecture, monitor the airborne radiation around their own stations
for the purpose of ensuring safety.
There are 78 Monitoring
Posts (MP) or Monitoring Stations (MS) totally in this prefecture, and
they cover large areas around the nuclear power stations. (18 of Fukui
Pref. Government, 39 of KEPCO, 10 of JAPC, 11 of JNC)
For distinguishing other
companies’ MP/MS from the prefecture's, the names have “MP” or “MS” after
the location name. In other words, prefecture’s MP/MS do not have “MP”
or “MS” in their name.
